Samantha Truong is pursuing her Bachelors of Social Work at UBC and will be graduating this May 2017 with a focus in healthcare. She has previously worked at the Sexual Assault Support Centre, 1-800- Suicide Lines and is currently doing her practicum placement with the Vancouver Costal Health HIV/AIDS STOP prevention team. Since beginning her placement in January she has seen how great of a role housing plays in regards to the survival and well-being of her clients. Overwhelmed by the reality of insufficient and inadequate access to housing Samantha decided to apply for this initiative. She enters the Vancouver30Network with the goal of staying curious, excited, and to build connections and bridges towards forming social policy which can support those most in need.
