Alyssa Lalani
Alyssa is an experienced educator, curriculum designer, and advocate for youth civic engagement and inclusive education. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from UCL and has worked extensively across Canada and internationally in the non-profit sector, developing and delivering innovative programs for diverse youth audiences in both formal and non-formal settings.
Alyssa’s work focuses on equipping young people to think critically, lead ethically, and engage with complex social and environmental challenges including climate justice. Her approach is rooted in feminist and equity-centered practices. Her commitment to community leadership began early in life and has taken shape through various advocacy, education, and organizing efforts over the years—including serving as a board member and Women’s Liaison at the Capilano Students’ Union during her undergrad, and volunteering on political campaigns.
Based in Burnaby, Alyssa lives and works on the unceded and ancestral territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilw̓ ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Having long admired CityHive’s mission, she is excited to contribute as a board member supporting youth leadership and meaningful social impact.
