Amanda Bradshaw

Amanda Bradshaw is a first generation Trinidadian-Venezuelan settler who is pursuing a degree in Human Geography and Urban Studies at the University of British Columbia. She also holds an Environmental Studies degree from Douglas College. Her intersectional lived experiences as an immigrant in Metro Vancouver are the undercurrent of her academic interest in urban processes. She is especially invested in understanding how marginalized groups simultaneously shape and are shaped by the social fabric of city life. She has always been intrigued by the ways spatial experiences and practices vary along lines of class, race, gender, and citizenship. Therefore, she sees the urban landscape as a site imbued with potential for community building, organizing, and resistance. With a deep passion for radical urbanism, social sustainability, and climate justice, Amanda hopes to one day culminate her interests into a career in urban planning. She is excited to work alongside like-minded young people to engage in meaningful discussions on environmental and urban issues.
