Armaan Thandhi

Armaan is a third-year student at Simon Fraser University pursuing a joint major in Business Administration and Resource and Environmental Management who is passionate about youth leadership and social impact. He first became involved with CityHive through the Civic Innovators Cohort in 2023.

Since high school, Armaan has striven to empower youth through programs like Surrey Libraries’ Reading Buddies program and Surrey School District’s Next 100 Years Mentorship Program, where he taught leadership skills and civic responsibility to elementary school youth. As a Provincial Youth Advisor with Foundry BC, Armaan draws from his lived experience with mental health and as a neurodivergent youth to advocate for greater youth mental health awareness and access to services.

Recently, Armaan has volunteered with social impact organizations like Enactus SFU and re-generation. He is a Co-Chief of Sustainability with the Vancouver Kindness Movement, where he organizes park, school, and shoreline cleanups in addition to supporting food drives, arts and crafts activities for kids, and other community events. Armaan also has experience as a Teaching Assistant at SFU, promoting social and environmental sustainability in business courses.

Armaan’s interests include climate action and policy, sustainable cities, and building a just and equitable economy.
