Programs Manager

Brennan (he/him) is a climate justice advocate, policy advisor, and youth engagement leader who grew up and lives as a settler on unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, səlilwətaɬ, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territories in Burnaby. His passion for climate justice and youth civic power took root in high school, where he co-led his school's environmental club and got involved in community initiatives, including coordinating youth engagement for a local stream stewardship committee and campaigning for climate-sincere municipal representatives. These experiences showed him what becomes possible when young people are given the tools and space to lead.

Brennan went on to study Resource and Environmental Management at SFU, where he deepened his engagement through SFU350's Fossil Fuel Divestment campaign and his leadership at the BC Council for International Cooperation's youth-led Climate Change Branch - a program that empowers young people to drive climate policy and advocacy through youth-led research, engagement, and international delegations. He has since worked as a Policy Analyst at Environment and Climate Change Canada, gaining firsthand experience in federal policy and decision-making - experience he now brings to CityHive to help youth navigate and influence the institutions that shape their communities.

Brennan is motivated by connection - with people, with nature, and with the communities he calls home. He holds a strong belief in the power of collective effort to drive real change in our cities. Outside of work, you can find Brennan hiking, running, dragon boating, or exploring music and art.
