José Reyeros Sánchez
José Reyeros (he/him/el) is a youth climate advocate, organizer, and civic engagement facilitator with experience in climate justice, policy advocacy, and youth organizing in Vancouver (Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories). His work focuses on bridging climate action, community engagement, and cultural gatherings, ensuring that young people have access to decision-making spaces and opportunities in the climate economy.
José has worked with organizations such as CityHive, Youth Climate Corps BC, and the UBC Climate Hub, leading climate and civic education initiatives, youth-led policy engagement, and just transition advocacy. Now he organizes full time with Ritmos Climaticos as ED and Co-founder, a youth and immigrant led organizations mobilizing culture for climate justice.
Beyond Vancouver, José has worked at the intersection of climate finance, civic action, and storytelling, collaborating with BCCIC, SOA Mexico, and Chilli.club to mobilize youth activism and public awareness on fossil fuel divestment, blue economy solutions, and democratic engagement. He is passionate about equity in civic participation, ensuring youth voices are heard in governance, and strengthening local-global connections in climate policy. Through the CityHive Youth Advisory, José hopes to contribute his expertise in civic engagement, climate justice, and youth leadership to help shape Vancouver’s climate and governance strategies.
