Maelin Cheung

Maelin 張美齡 (she/they) grew up in the Downtown Eastside and Chinatown communities on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ Nations. Her childhood was shaped by subsidized sports, lunch programs, and summer camps. These programs fueled her passion for expanding access to opportunities for racialized and inner-city youth. Maelin believes that early access to education and youth programs plays an integral role in fostering lifelong civic participation, creating ripple effects that strengthen communities. She is driven by a strong desire to learn, dream, and build beyond existing systems in her personal and professional practice.
Maelin is passionate about driving positive change by turning ideas into tangible projects. She's experienced in learning design, project management, marketing, and events. She possesses a versatile skill set to support teams at any stage of their journey - having worked with non-profits, public sector, small businesses and startups. She supported the design and development of experiential leadership training programs for clients such as the cities of Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, White Rock, as well as BC Ferries.
In addition to their lived and work experiences, Maelin holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Marketing (UBC, 2017). She is obtaining her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with an estimated completion of December 2025. Outside of work, you may find Maelin playing volleyball, running, or watching horror movies.
