Nishi Praveen Kumar

Nishi is an emerging South Asian designer and artist based in Vancouver. Trained in architecture, landscape and urban design, she brings a deep passion for art, environment, the built and people-centered design to her work. Her practice sits at the intersection of public space, cultural storytelling, and social equity with a strong focus on projects that foster belonging, celebrate identity, and spark dialogue around justice and reconciliation. Whether through placemaking, murals, or workshops, Nishi is driven by the belief that art can activate spaces and bring people together in meaningful ways. She has led and contributed to several community-centered projects across Vancouver, including Miiti Mela, a South Asian street festival; public cultural art workshops (Roots and Reflections) in South Vancouver; and a ground mural on the Arbutus Greenway - Play the Way.
