Stephanie Tamkee
Stephanie (she/her) is a mixed-European, Chinese, and Metis student living on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ilwətaɁɬ people. She is currently pursuing Environmental Sciences at UBC with the hope of going into ecology and conservation directed at supporting climate action and justice. Stephanie is very passionate about the environment, sustainability, and making opportunities available to youth and underserved communities accessible and supportive for community action.
Stephanie has been involved with the Environmental Youth Alliance for 5+ years, now providing support on their Youth Advisory Circle. Motivated to address the issues of underrepresentation in the climate action movement, Stephanie coordinated a Climate Action Workshop for BIPOC students to gain paid leadership experience leading climate education. She is involved in a variety of sustainability and accessibility focused clubs at UBC and is excited at any opportunity to meet new people and get involved in community action!
