Zainab (she/her) is a community engagement and civic education enthusiast who is energized by witnessing the power of deep relationship-building, meaningful conversations, and facilitation that meets people where they are. She currently works as a Community Engagement and Strategic Projects Specialist at UBC Campus + Community Planning, empowering students, staff, and faculty at UBC with resources and relationships to support climate action efforts on campus.

Zainab has been passionate about meaningful engagement all her life. Through organizing in climate, housing, anti-racist, and gender equity spaces since the age of 14, she has had the honour of learning from, and working with, diverse communities and individuals from across the Lower Mainland. Some of her other passions include music, arts and crafts, and the people she loves.
